Terms of Service

1. Service

PostFile ("we", "our") provides a file hosting API that allows users to upload files and receive public URLs. The service is available at postfile.net and is based in Sweden.

2. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You may not use PostFile to upload, store, host, share, or distribute:

• Illegal content or content that facilitates illegal activity
• Malware, viruses, harmful code, phishing pages, credential theft, or scam content
• Copyrighted material without authorization from the rights holder
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or sexual exploitation content involving minors
• Non-consensual intimate imagery, harassment, threats, or content intended to harm others
• Personal data dumps, doxxing material, or private information shared without authorization
• Content that attempts to exploit, overload, probe, or disrupt PostFile or other services

We may remove files, disable access, purge CDN cache, suspend or terminate accounts and API keys, and preserve relevant records when we believe these terms or applicable law have been violated. Repeated or serious abuse may result in permanent account termination.

4. Plans and Billing

Free accounts are subject to usage limits as described on our pricing page. Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds for partial months.

5. File Storage

Files uploaded to PostFile are stored until you delete them, they expire under an auto-delete setting you configured, or your account is terminated. We do not guarantee permanent storage. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups.

6. Availability

We aim to provide reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

7. Liability

PostFile is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including data loss, downtime, or unauthorized access to your files. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Content Reports and Takedowns

To report illegal, abusive, harmful, or infringing content hosted on PostFile, use our Report Content page or email support@@postfile.net. Include the PostFile URL and enough information for us to review the report. Do not attach illegal material to your email.

If we become aware of suspected serious criminal activity involving a threat to life or safety, including child sexual abuse or exploitation, terrorism, or trafficking, we may notify the appropriate law enforcement or judicial authorities and provide relevant information.

9. Changes

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
